Adding Bourbon Barrel Oak Chips will give your amazing flavours of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Made from genuine American bourbon barrels that have held Bourbon for a minimum of 2-6 years.

Add bourbon oak chips to base spirit, or to a beer or stout to add amazing flavours of bourbon and oak.

Oak chips add tannins and flavours and aromas of vanilla and spices like cinnamon and clove. As these oak chips have held bourbon, you will get those amazing bourbon flavours too.

You can use the Bourbon Barrel Oak Chips in wine too.  Red wine works best and adds an extra complexity to your wine.

Try lightly toasting the chips in a dry frying pan and then adding to your stouts, to give even more flavour.

If fermenting with beer or wine, then add in the oak with the yeast to give the flavours associated with premium wines that have been fermented in oak barrels, rather than just aged in oak.  During fermentation, the yeast help extract the flavours from the oak and cement the flavours into the wine.

Oak also works really well in traditional IPA's as these were originally transported in oak barrels from England to India on board ships for the long journey around the tip of South Africa and back up to India.

USE:

If using in wine, then add about 20-30g per 23 litres when pitching the yeast.

If using in Stout / Porter, then use 30-50g per 23 litres post fermentation and age on the oak for 1-2 weeks

If using in Spirit, use 50g per 2 litres and age for 10-30 days.  Use less oak if ageing for longer.
